Guest accounts
What you can do without an account, the guest usage limit, and how to keep your guest chats when you sign up.
You can try Deni AI without an account. Select Continue as Guest on the sign-in page, and you go straight to chat. You may be asked to complete a quick security check first.
While you use a guest account, the account menu shows Guest and Guest account instead of a name and email address.
A guest account belongs to the browser you started it in. To keep what you made, sign up or sign in from that same browser.
Logging out deletes your guest chats
You can't sign back in to a guest account. When you log out, the guest account and its chats are deleted. To keep them, sign up or sign in first.
What guests can do
- Chat with GPT-6 Luna.
- Use web search.
- Attach files, with up to 20 MB of attachment storage.
Usage limit
Guests get 1,000,000 usage units (1M). This allowance never resets.
- Chats use units based on the tokens they use, the same way as for signed-in accounts.
- Each web search uses 10,000 units.
- Check what's left under Usage in the account menu (shown as a percentage).
When the allowance runs out, sign up to keep chatting. Your account then uses its own plan's usage, not what's left of the guest allowance. See Plans and usage.
Single messages are also limited for guests:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Conversations this long are not available for guest sessions. …" | Start a new chat, or sign in. |
| "Files this large are not available for guest sessions. …" | Remove the attachment, or sign in to send it. |
For guests, the length of each answer is capped, and reasoning effort goes no higher than medium.
What guests can't do
| Feature | What you see as a guest |
|---|---|
| Models other than GPT-6 Luna | "Only GPT-6 Luna is available for guest sessions. Log in to use more models." |
| Fast, Pro, and Deep Research | "Fast, Pro, and Deep Research are not available for guest sessions. Log in to use them." |
| Model comparison | Needs a signed-in account on Pro (or a Team plan). |
Settings pages (https://deniai.app/settings/...), including plans and billing | You're sent back to chat. |
| API keys and Flixa | "Guest accounts cannot create API keys or use the Flixa extension." See Use Flixa with external coding tools. |
| Signing in to other apps with Deni AI | "Guest accounts cannot sign in to other apps. Please sign in with a permanent account to continue." |
| Teams | Guests can't create teams. |
| Importing chats from other services | Not available. |
| Changing your email address, or adding a passkey, a Google or GitHub link, or two-factor authentication | Not available; sign up instead. The Security tab of account settings isn't shown to guests. |
| Saving memories automatically | Memories aren't saved from guest chats. |
Keep your chats
Sign up or sign in in the same browser while you're using the guest account. Your guest data moves to that account.
- Open the account menu and select Sign up to keep your chats. To use an account you already have, sign in from the sign-in page instead.
- Sign up or sign in with any method: email and password, an email sign-in link, Google, GitHub, or a passkey. If you sign up with an email address, open the verification link in the same browser.
What moves to your account:
- Chats
- Model comparisons
- Projects and their files
- Attachments
- Memories
- Personalization settings, unless your account already has its own
What doesn't move: the guest's usage. Your account uses its own plan's allowance.
After the move, the guest account is deleted.
Two-factor authentication: if the account you sign in to has two-factor authentication and you sign in with your email and password, your guest data isn't moved. The guest account is deleted.
To sign up, see Trouble signing in for which email addresses you can use.
If you don't sign up
A guest account and everything in it are deleted automatically:
- after you log out of it, or
- after about a week without use.
Before you log out, Deni AI asks you to confirm: "Log out of the guest account?"
